Transparent editorial operations

Editorial workflow

Manuscripts are assessed independently within JSTHF with clearly assigned responsibilities for authors, managing editors, associate editors, reviewers, and the Editor-in-Chief.

Current submission status: The online submission and reviewer portal is not yet active on this public website. The editorial-management platform is being integrated and tested. Do not assume that a manuscript has been submitted by visiting this page. For current editorial contact information, consult Contact.

01. Author preparation

Authors check journal scope, ethics, original research standards, reporting requirements, and the instructions for authors.

02. Technical screening

The managing editor checks the manuscript files, authorship data, policies and essential documentation before specialist review.

03. Editor assignment

A designated associate editor assesses suitability and recommends appropriate specialist reviewers. Conflicts of interest must be managed.

04. Independent peer review

Invited reviewers submit scholarly recommendations and author-facing comments; confidential comments remain restricted to authorized editors.

05. Editorial decision

The Editor-in-Chief decides whether to request revision, accept or reject. Where invited reviewers do not respond, an independently documented EIC assessment may be considered under journal policy rather than inventing reviewer reports.

06. Author revision

Authors respond to review points, provide updated manuscript files and document substantive changes for the editors.

07. Proof and quality control

Accepted manuscripts receive production checks covering author names, affiliations, citations, tables, captions, dates and final PDF proofs.

08. Publication and discovery

Only explicitly approved articles are released with stable article pages, PDF files and scholarly citation metadata. DOI registration and search engine indexing must be verified separately.
